Nuclear Medicine
Newport Diagnostic Center’s commitment to the latest medical imaging technology includes a comprehensive nuclear medicine program. In nuclear medicine, small amounts of traceable radioactive material are used to diagnose many conditions, as well as to determine their severity. Emissions from the material are reviewed via images that provide precise, detailed information to help determine the next steps in treatment.
Newport Diagnostic Center is fully accredited by the American College of Radiology in Nuclear Medicine. Thanks to the precision of our advanced technology, our nuclear medicine modalities have the potential to identify conditions in the early stages, before they become present on CT or MRI, when therapeutic intervention may be of the most benefit.
With the exception of a possible intravenous injection, our nuclear medicine procedures are non-invasive. At Newport Diagnostic Center, patient safety is of the utmost importance. Our equipment is routinely checked and calibrated to maintain the highest levels of safety for our patients.
